HDR Xbox

This Week’s Theme: Alphabet V through Z

So today’s letter is X. I tried to come up with some fancy X word, but couldn’t, and ended up just taking a picture of Brent’s Xbox. I did however put a little more effort into this picture… I have been looking up tutorials on how to do an HDR (High Dynamic Range) image. This was my first attempt, and it turned out horrible, but I wanted to post it so I (and you) could watch my progress with it. Tomorrow I plan on taking a much better HDR (things outdoors make such better HDR images… Macros aren’t exactly the best shots for it) and I will post my results (even if they don’t have to do with Y). So anyways, if anyone else is interested on how to make HDR images, or just wants to see what an HDR looks like, click here. This was the best tutorial I found, and the guy who wrote it has a lot of great HDR images.

Thank mine and Brent’s friend Kad (David Scars – on my Facebook) for getting me into HDR’s… He takes amazing shots, and I can only hope to get some as good as his… =) He also told me what video tutorial he uses and I found the written version (linked above).

aww i feel so special :P

anyways you see how the colors are completely blown out by the power button? with true hdr images you can completely control the highlights so you don’t get blown out colors and clipping. the only way I know how to get the “hdr” look is to pseudo image bracketing. pseudo bracketing basically tricks photo shop into thinking you actually have 3 different images. of course it’s better if you actually have 3 or more raw images to deal with. you should look for a guide for pseudo bracketing if your camera doesn’t take raw images.
