Mother’s Day at the Zoo

13 May

For Mother’s Day, my mom, dad, brother Patrick and I all went to the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk. We had a lot of fun, and it was a great opportunity for pictures! I haven’t taken any in a while, so I was happy to have such awesome models. =)

I made a new folder for all my zoo pictures. It’s in the Gallery tab and the album is named “Zoo for Mothers Day 2010″… Obviously… Lol.

There are a ton of pictures of random zoo animals, but this one was my favorite. He’s one of four cubs there, and he was too cute. There’s some of squirrel monkeys too. Those were adorable. There’s a picture of one that’s right on the glass and he’s got his arms open as if to say “All hail me, minions!” Haha. Too cute. All the pics are named with the animal’s name (I looked them up on the zoo webpage… Not quite smart enough to remember them all. Lol). They all have actual names too, but I didn’t know which was which. Like the Blue Bellied Roller is either Queen Latifah, or Fresh Prince. Lol.

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy these pictures as much as I do. =)

Facebook Peeps: I am putting all these all these on Facebook as well… That way I could put a little description on each picture and you guys can comment on them. =)

Wisteria

14 Apr

This wisteria is growing in our front driveway. It smells amazing and there’s so many bees on it. I love it, but it can kill anything it grows on like the trees next to it, so you have to keep it trimmed.

Buzz the Bee

24 Mar

I thought this picture needed it’s own post. While I was taking pictures of the tulip tree, this little bee was watching me from a flower. I named him Buzz. Lol. I thought it was cute that he was sitting there watching me take pics… He sat there almost the whole time. I think he got bored, cause he flew off after about five minutes. =)

Tulip Tree on a Sunny Day

24 Mar

I had to go outside to check the mail, so since it was so sunny out, I decided it was a good time to get some better pictures of the tulip tree. It’s right outside our window, which I opened up yesterday, and it smells so pretty, so when a breeze comes in, we smell it. I think these flowers are so pretty. =)

Yellow Daffodils

23 Mar

I love daffodils. They’re all over the place. These ones were at a house in the Albemarle Plantation. Brent had to fix some stuff for someone his mom works for, and I saw these in their driveway and had to get some pics of them. They’re so cute – they’re like little teacups. =)

Tulip Tree on a Gloomy Day

22 Mar

This tulip tree is right outside our bedroom window, and it just started blooming! I had to take pictures of it, even though it was a gloomy cloudy day. I love these flowers, and I’ll be opening our window so we can smell them all the time. =)

Spring-Time Flowers

21 Mar

I went to my parents’ house yesterday and my mom had these Hyacinths in her garden. She planted them last year, and they popped up in the last week. I thought the pink ones were so pretty. There were purple ones too, but I didn’t get any good pics of those. I also put a picture of some Daffodils that were growing between my parents’ house and their neighbors’ house. The purple Henbits in the gallery I took last week, but I left my camera over there so I put the picture up with these ones. I love Spring. All the pretty flowers make for good pictures. =)

I’ve Decided….

21 Mar

Recently I’ve been thinking, and I have decided to give up on “Project 365″. It’s become more work than enjoyment and I just don’t have things to take pictures of every day. But fear not, I will keep posting pictures, just not every day. I’ll post when I actually get pictures of good stuff. I’ll still make a point to go out and take pictures when there’s things to take pictures of, but there won’t be anymore trying to catch up and whatnot. I’ll post on my Facebook whenever I post up here like I have been doing, so keep an eye out for those posts – and if you don’t have me on your Facebook, feel free to add me. =)

Big Creepy Spider

17 Mar

I know I am supposed to start back up on the 20th, but I couldn’t resist putting these pics up. Brent and I were outside putting the front tires back on my Neon so it will be ready for the people to come pick it up on Monday (I am donating it to the Breast Cancer Foundation). Brent lifted one of the tires and found this creepy ass guy. He was probably about three to four inches including his legs, and had to have been the biggest spider I’ve ever seen up close. He was about the size of a tarantula. Of course, I couldn’t get close enough to him to take pics, so Brent did for me. We looked it up and found out he is most likely a Huntsman spider or a Wood spider. It gives me the heeby jeebies just looking at the pictures! These were taken with my Minolta since I left my camera at my parents’ house.

Sorry…

15 Mar

I really suck at keeping up with this thing…. I think I’m going to take another month off and add that at the end… So I’ll start again on the 20th… Sorry to anyone who actually reads this… I hate being so behind. =P
