Really Tall Tree

16 Feb

This tree is in our front yard. The polarizing lens filter really made the sky blue. =)

Wisteria Pod

15 Feb

The wisteria in our front yard is dead right now, but there are little fuzzy pods all over it. I thought they were kinda cool looking. This was taken with my Minolta.

Geese on the Water

14 Feb

These geese went by while we were sitting on a bench drinking our coffee. I tried to throw a piece of cookie to get them to come closer, but as soon as I threw it, a ton of seagulls all flocked over to us. We freaked out because we thought they were going to poop on us. Lol

Our Confederates Dead

13 Feb

This statue was down by the waterfront. I saw it when we were walking up to the coffeehouse for a warm drink. It was really cold that day. This statue is a memorial for the Confederate soldiers. I’m not sure who it is that’s on the top of it. I think it is Robert E. Lee, but I’m not positive about that.

Gazebo in the Sunset

12 Feb

I know there’s a lot of sunset pictures, but I really do love how they look. Especially with something in front of it, that comes out as a silhouette.

Lighthouse in the Sunset

11 Feb

Since I haven’t really had an opportunity to get any more pictures taken, this week is going to just feature pictures I took in Edenton. =)

This is the Roanoke River Lighthouse we went to the top of. I thought it looked so pretty in the sunset. This picture was taken with my Fujifilm.

Lovers in the Sunset

10 Feb

Photo Forum has a contest every month, and this month the subject is “Birds”, so I posted this picture as an entry. Voting starts on the 21st and the winner is announced on the 28th. The prize is a Nova 200 AW Camera Bag. Which I don’t really need, but it would be awesome to win! The winner also gets a “Contest Winner” badge next to their name on the forums. Wish me luck y’all! <3

My Mom’s Picture

9 Feb

My mom took this picture today and I thought it was the cutest thing, so I had to put it up here. I swear, these two ducks followed us all over the pier just so we could take their picture. We didn’t even feed them until a few minutes before we left. Haha they were adorable.

She took this picture with her Sony a330.

Sailboat in the Sunset

9 Feb

This is another picture from Monday, since I haven’t taken any more pictures… I loved the look of this sailboat with the sun behind it. It kinda looks like the sun is coming out of the top of the sail pole thingy. =)

Panoramic View from the Lighthouse

8 Feb

Today was a lot of fun. My mom picked me up and we went out to Edenton Waterfront to see what kind of sunset pictures we could come up with. There were two ducks that kept following us around the piers wanting us to take their pictures. Hehe. We ended up giving them some of my chocolate chip cookie after a while cause they were so cute. We took tons of pics around the piers and I took a lot of pictures of the Roanoke River Lighthouse that is in the park on the waterfront right now. They plan on renovating it in the next few months, and a guy was there looking at it while we were leaving. He saw us taking pictures, and let us come up to the top of the lighthouse and take pictures of the sunset! It was so cool. It was built in the late 1800’s and the state is providing $1.2 million for its restoration in the spring… Here’s a link to a webpage telling its history. It’s really interesting, and worth reading if you’re interested. =)

Anyway, there are a TON of pics in the February gallery, so go check them all out. My fave of the sunset was this panoramic. I started taking pics with my Minolta, but it was eating up all my batteries so I switched to my Fujifilm. The few pictures I took with the Minolta are tagged “Minolta” and all the Fuji ones are tagged “Fujifilm” (obviously…)
